Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency began the year 2025 on a sporty note by sponsoring a football tournament.
The Agency sponsored Nyalenda Community Back to School tournament that took place at Sirilanka Grounds in Nyalenda B Ward, Kisumu County from 2nd to 5th January 2025.
The event was graced by LVSWWDA CEO Ms. Jackline Kemunto. The Agency purchased seven sets of uniforms for the competing teams.
This is part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities targeted atempowerment for the youth living in the neighboring Nyalenda Estate.
During the tournament, Pro16 Football team emerged champions, taking home Kshs. 50,000 and an extra set of uniforms.
Hot FC secured second place with a prize of Kshs. 30,000, while ASYSA FCand Sulwe FC finished third and fourth, earning Kshs. 20,000 and Kshs.10,000 respectively.
The tournament also featured a Wazee Category, where Police FC won and were awarded a goat and a bundle of maize flour. Ringroad Wazee came in as the first runners-up.
