St. James Nyagisai Secondary School Water Project in Kitutu Chache Constituency, Kisii was fully financed by the Government of Kenya (GoK) and implemented by the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency at a cost of KES. 5,279,565.
The project is set to serve 250 students from St. James Nyagisai Secondary School, 250 pupils from Nyagisai Primary School and the neighboring community with sufficient and affordable water therefore contributing to the overall goal of enhancement of water supply and improved livelihoods for the community.
The drilled borehole has a depth of 100 meters has a capability of yielding 4,000 liters of water in one hour using solar power after the installation of the solar panels.
Meeting future water demand and improving water supply within the schools was the main objective of this project as school going children used a lot of time going to look for water instead of going through their books and improving on time spent on their academics.
