 Inspection of LWATSAN Program by PMDU

The Deputy Chief of Staff for Performance and Delivery Management Unit under the Office of The President Mr. Eliud Owalo, led an inspection visit of the Sewerage Pumping Station implemented under the Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation Program (LVWATSAN) at Nyamasaria Interchange in Kisumu County ahead of the planned commissioning.

‎LVWATSAN Program seeks to address Water and Sanitation gaps in Kisumu City and its satellite towns including Maseno, Daraja Mbili, Kiboswa and its surroundings.

‎Upon completion, the project is expected to achieve the following:

  1. Additional water supply connectivity from the current 212km to 550KM to 250,000 households in Kisumu and Maseno.
  2. Additional sewerage connectivity from 16% to 40% to 25,700 households.
  3. Support to the affordable housing by providing reliable water and sewerage connection to 4,968 units in Lumumba, Makasembo and other areas in Kisumu City.
  4. Enhace financial stability of Kisumu Water and Sewerage Company

The team was led by the CEO, Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency Ms. Jackline Kemunto. In attendance were the Kisumu County Commissioner Mr.Benson Leparmorijo, Kisumu County officials among other senior Government officials.
