
Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Water Secretary Eng. Samuel Alima presided over the groundbreaking ceremony of Kasgunga Water Supply Project in Homa Bay County on 20th May, 2022.
The project will serve Kasgunga East, Kasgunga Central & Kasgunga West. This area is approximately 5.5 Km2 with an approximate current population of about 3,529 residents. The project will ultimately serve 5,043 residents by 2042.
The contract commenced on 16th May 2022 and is expected to be effected within a period of 6 months and is expected to be completed by 16th November 2022. Eng. Alima said the project will alleviate water shortage in the area and deter residents form going to take a bath from the lake.
Kasgunga Water Project is located in Homa Bay County. The project will serve Kasgunga East, Kasgunga Central & Kasgunga West in Suba North Sub-County.
The project to be implemented in two phases will cover approximately 5.5 Km2. The second phase of the project will focus on water distribution and connectivity. The project will ultimately serve 5,043 residents by the year 2042.
