His Excellency Hon. William Samoei Ruto, PHD, CGH, President of the Republic of Kenya has commissioned Kericho Water Supply Expansion Project.
The project was implemented by the Ministry Of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation through LVSWWDA. The new Kimugu treatment works has a design capacity 13 million litres of water per day. This project is expected to provide over 19.5 million litres of water per day to over 189,716 residents of Kericho by the year 2030.
The water distribution network is currently at 165.6kms after construction of additional 50.6kms. It was co-financed by the Government of Kenya and the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW Development Bank.
