The Agency today hosted a KfW Review Mission to mark the transition from the completed Water Sector Development Program to the launch of the new Waste Water Management at Lake Victoria South Project, which targets Kericho, Litein, and Kisii towns.
The high-level meeting convened stakeholders from KfW, the County Governments of Kericho and Kisii, the Water Service Providers (KEWASCO and KWASCO), and the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency.
The core objective of the overall program is multifaceted: to reduce pollution in Lake Victoria, significantly increase the supply of portable water, enhance sewer connectivity, and strengthen the institutional capacity of KWASCO and KEWASCO in the respective counties.
The Project is set to benefit both Kericho and Kisii Counties. In Kericho County, the expansion is substantial, aiming to increase coverage of clean water supply and sanitation services from 72,000 to 94,000 people.
