 BOMET MULOT-LONGISA WATER SUPPLY & SANITATION PROJECT SITE HANDOVER

Bomet County is expected to be water sufficient in a span of 18 months after construction of Water Supply and Sanitation System for Bomet-Mulot-Longisa towns.

The project handed over for construction is being financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Government of Kenya.

The project is being implemented by Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency (LVSWWDA) and Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA). It will improve the access to safe, reliable, sustainable and affordable water supply and sanitation services.

The KShs.1.7Billion project has been handed over to the project Consultant Howard Humphreys (E.A) Ltd. and contractor China Railway No 10 Engineering group Ltd.

The project will involve construction of run of river intake works at Nyangores River, approximately 5km raw water gravity main, full conventional water treatment works, net with a net production capacity of 17,808m3/day.

The pipeline will be transmitted to a total length of approximately 110.19kms. There will also be two booster pumping stations, seven water storage tanks with capacity ranging from 200-500m3 and construction of four ablution blocks.

During the site handover workshop the CEO LVSWWDA Mr Chrispine Juma, HSC was represented by Manager Planning and Design Eng. Michael Opany.

CRVWWDA CEO Eng. Samuel Oruma, Bomet County Government Prof. Barchok Hillary Bomet County Commissioner Ms. Susan Waweru among several other stakeholders.
